Today, I'm taking you into a world of sweetness and creativity with this spring tutorial. Learn how to make your own small fabric flowers to add a touch of magic to your accessories!
Fabric flowers are a simple and delightful way to add a floral note to your creations. Whether you want to brighten up hair clips, brooches, hats, or other sewing projects, these little wonders will make a statement.
So, gather your materials: fancy fabric scraps, a spool of thread, a pencil, fabric glue, scissors, and perhaps some buttons for even more whimsy!
Follow these simple steps and let your creativity blossom: trace, cut, fold, sew, and there you have it! In no time, you'll have delightful little flowers ready to adorn your creations.
Materials:
-Fancy fabric (scraps or coupons work just fine)
-A spool of thread
-A pencil
-Fabric glue
-Scissors
-Optional: buttons
Step 1: Trace circles with your spool of thread on a piece of fabric
Step 2: Cut out your circles
Step 3: Fold your fabric circle in half
Step 4: Fold in half again (you'll get a triangle and your first petal)
Step 5: With your thread and needle, make a running stitch
Step 6: Gather the fabric by pulling your thread
Step 7: Repeat steps 1 to 5 with another fabric circle
Step 8: Repeat the steps with each petal
Step 9: In the end, there are 5 petals. Tie a final knot with the starting thread and the ending thread
Step 10: Turn your flower over
Step 11: Cut out a smaller circle than the petals
Step 12: Glue it to the back of the flower
Step 13: Secure everything with clothespins
Step 14: Let it dry
And there you have it! You have your little fabric flowers.
And don't forget, the option of fancy buttons is there to add a unique touch to your fabric flowers.
Personally, I love the vintage look of buttons, but feel free to explore different possibilities!
So, dive into this creative adventure and brighten up your day with these adorable fabric flowers. It's your turn to shine! 🌸✂️
